Mauricio Salgueiro, a pioneer in the use of technology in contemporary art, is accorded a special place here
The Espirito Santo artist, Mauricio Salgueiro, a pioneer in the use of technology in contemporary art, is accorded a special place here. He shares the First Room with other multi-faceted artists, who were also some of the first to promote this trend in Brazil: Abraham Palatnik, Leticia Parente, Paulo Bruscky, Rafael Franca, Regina Silveira and Sonia Andrade. Most of the space, however, is devoted to other, younger artists, who have made their mark on and expanded the concept of technological contemporary art in general, each in their own particular manner: Andre Parente, Chelpa Ferro, Angela Detanico & Rafael Lain, Eduardo Kac, Fernando Velazquez, Floriano Romano, Leandro Lima & Gisela Motta, Marcelo Moscheta, Mariana Manhaes, Marssares, Milton Marques, O Grivo, Paulo Nenflidio, Paulo Vivacqua and Pedro Paulo Domingues.
