Yorkshire Sculpture Park, Wakefield

This important exhibition presents new work by the Ortas, demonstrating a shift in their practice toward floor-based sculptures of significant scale and presence, alongside contextualising wall-hung refuge wear and ceramic pieces on plinths. YSP has commissioned the Ortas to realise their major installation Drifting Raft. Inspired by Gericault's shipwreck painting Le Radeau de Meduse and the YSP lakes, it is a perfect illustration of the artists' ongoing enquiry into contemporary social and environmental issues.
