A multi-day festival brings glowing light art during the winter in different locations. Second edition with work of (inter)national authors: special visual arts, music and literature, with a focus on light art.
Special winter edition of art route in Rotterdam
During the Art Rotterdam Week, Route du Nord Light presents in its second edition work of (inter)national artists: special visual arts, music and literature, with a focus on light art. Complemented by a Rotterdam music and literature program the locations Roodkapje, BAR, BIRD and Zomerhofstraat 69 will shine.
Route du Nord has grown in recent years from a small artist studio route to a lively multi-day festival. During the festival, it’s not only about looking at art, but also about the encounters between artists and their audience.
Curator and visual artist Kiki Petratou organized the exhibitions. Roodkapje shows work of Gyz La Rivière, John Robert and Tonio de Roover. Pioneer, artist and designer Daan Roosegaarde shows his ‘Marbles’ and 'Liquid Space 6.1', huge glowing forms which communicate with the public through sound, light and color. In addition, in Zomerhofstraat 69 you can visit the retrospective exhibition of video and audio installations by artist Martin de Korte (aka BARKODE).
