In the Vault: Prints. The artist's new solo show of etchings, two-dimensional pieces. Most known for his large scale sculptures, these two dimensional pieces allow the viewer a more intimate experience with the artist's work.
Bridgette Mayer Gallery is pleased to feature and exhibit a solo show of etchings by Donald Judd in our Vault Room during our up coming, Neil Anderson exhibition, Earth Songs: Architecture of the Plane. Arguably one of the most important American artists from the post-war period, Judd's work represents the pinnacle of pure line and form. Most known for his large scale sculptures, these two dimensional pieces allow the viewer a more intimate experience with the artist's work. The etchings come from Untitled 1977-78, a suite of sixteen works that was originally intended to be a body of 75 prints but was never completed. Coupled with the vibrancy of Anderson's paintings in the main gallery, the prints act a resting spot for the eye and create a visual conversation of postmodern and contemporary abstraction.
