Public Art Festival. With a focus on the neighborhood of Adliya, the festival offers a packed schedule of workshops, screenings, talks, food, music, and it is an opportunity to interact with newly-commissioned works made by local, regional, and international artists.
Al Riwaq Art Space is excited to present its annual public arts festival //Alwan338// that will run from March 3rd – April 19th, 2014.
Under the theme of //foundations// and with a focus on the neighborhood of Adliya, Alwan338 offers a packed schedule of workshops, screenings, talks, food, and music – and last but not least, this festival will be a unique opportunity to interact with newly-commissioned works exhibited all over Adliya, made by local, regional, and international artists.

We’re still putting up some installations and art work. Here are some works in progress by Chris Lawrence and Mohamed Al Sharqawy. The installation above by Ali Hussein Mirza is complete. We’re also really excited about Park 338 designed by Muna Yateem! The park will consist of the stage and a cafe booth that doubles as seating to hold the audience for the bands and open mic nights on Thursdays and Fridays respectively.

Come by the Alwan338//Foundations Arts Festival and record your dream in the Dreams’ Time Capsule by Eva Frapiccini! You’ll get to sit in an incredible white “bubble” that is made to resemble an embryo.
The Dreams’ Time Capsule is an “Audio Archive of Dreams / project by Eva Frapiccini. It is a research and a participatory project attempting to create a source to understand how the archetypes surfacing in dreams, through different geographical areas.”
Eva Frapiccini will be running her Dreams’ Time Capsule from March 3rd – 9th, 6 pm – 9pm.
