Volatile Color Rushes through Time. A representative and individual painterly gesture is juxtaposed to a digital hand
Volatile Color Rushes through Time. Rita Vitorelli's works push the boundaries of 'expanded pictorial space', thereby questioning what the medium of painting implies. At the 21er Raum, a representative and individual painterly gesture is juxtaposed to a digital hand; authorship meets creative complicity while traditional themes of composition are confronted with issues of illustrability - all of which is staged within a multimedia setting. Rita Vitorelli was born in 1972 and lives and works in Vienna and Berlin. Her most recent exhibitions include: Very abstract and really figurative, Galerie Emanuel Layr, Vienna (2012); The Happy Fainting of Painting, Zwinger Galerie, Berlin (2012); Die/Der Wurfel/Le De (III), COCO, Vienna (2012).
