The region’s first and leading dedicated design fair, Design Days Dubai, returns for its third edition to deliver a diverse, exhibition - quality collection of compelling, highly - collectible modern and contemporary design pieces and installations , alongside a public programme with leading design personalities and industry experts , from 1 7 – 21 March 2014.

Reflecting the growth of Dubai’s design landscape, Design Days Dubai has grown the number of exhibiting galleries by 20%, with 3 4 galleries bring ing artistic and imaginative design creations to t he fair – including several regional and world premieres of works. T he most internationally - diverse Design Days Dubai to date , g alleries from new territories such as Japan, Jordan, China , Austria, Portugal , Hungary and Pakistan , will exhibit alongside returning participants from Europe, Nor th and South America, Asia and Austral ia , strengthen ing the fair’s global credentials and appeal to a broad base of collectors.

Along with transnational talents, t he fair is proud to announce a strong presence of galleries from the region, including six from Dubai, thre e from Lebanon , one Jordan , as well as one university from Qatar . F urther emphasizing the status of Design Days Dubai as a hub for both emerging and established collectors , the fair will also see the premier of many regional galleries.

Returning to the prestigious location of The Venue, next to the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa, in Downtown Dubai, Design Days Dubai has the continued generous support of returning sponsor s, including French high - jewelry maison Van Cleef & Arpels, Emaar , Audi , and the Dubai Culture & Arts Authority ; the Emirate’s dedicated Authority for culture, arts, and heritage, working in collaboration to provid e visitors with an opportunity to engage with pieces from new - comers and well - established designers.

New for 2014, Design Days Dubai will introduce an annual ‘Discover’ section; the first edition will be presented in cooperation with Institut Fran ç ais in t he UAE, and will be dedicated to g iving four young and fresh design galleries from France an international platform to exhibit works , (Ymer&Malta; Galerie Gosserez; NextLevel Galerie and Galerie S. Bensimon).

The well - respected Galerie Yves Gastou has also joined the 2014 gallery line - up , together with returning market - leaders such as Carpenters Workshop Gallery , Southern Guild , _ Croft , Industry Gallery and Victor Hunt . Design Days Dubai will again aim to produc e a fair that inspires collectors, design enthusiasts, and members of the public to discover and interact with the works, and the creators behind them. The Crafts Council (UK) will return to present 10 UK - based designers , who have been selected after an open - call made especial ly for Design Days D ubai

For the first time, Design Days Dubai has been extended by an extra day, and will now be open to the public on the weekend. The fair will host a stimulating public programme , presented by Dubai Culture & Arts Auth ority , which has been developed to i nspire and help educate visitors about principles and innovations in design. The five - day programme will feature i nformative talk s and workshops , as well as live performances a nd special design installations.

esign Days Dubai will also be taking the fair on the road, with a series of ‘Design Stories’ events , presented by the Design Days Dubai fair director, in various key host cities in the region . L aunching in Bahrain on 12 th December 2013 , ‘Design Stories’ w ill give collectors and design enthusiasts around the region an opportunity to preview of the rare and limited - edition, modern and contemporary pieces to be seen at the fair, as well as the chance to participate in discussions with industry experts includi ng designers, design galleries and academics.
