Videonomad

Raw Material Company - Center for art, knowledge and society, Dakar

Based in Cotonou-BENIN, CentiArt is an international non-profit association for contemporary art. With its differents activities, it aims is to promote visual artists from Africa and from all around the world. Since March 2013 the association has launched its online platform where it is possible to discover two of its projects developped so far.

ARTISTS PORTFOLIOS
This is a virtuel space created for visual artists and/or writters to present their work. By showing their portfolios, artists are discovering the work of their colleagues, creating a network to meet, exchange, and share .

« VIDEONOMAD »
By this video screening project, video art is inviting itself on the streets, on the facades of houses , in libraries, in subway stations, artists’ workshops… all cultural spaces other than art galleries and museums. As its name suggests « VIDEONOMAD » does not have fixed place. It is moving continually, it crosses borders and stops its course for an evening, a day or even half a day. It is important to precise that « VIDEONOMAD » is not a festival but rather an ephemeral video screening. However it could be invited by festivals all around the world.
Apart from these two projects mentioned above, Centiart association will run artists residencies, literary meetings, contemporary art festivals, conferences etc in the near future.
