I falter. Exhibition
I falter is the second in a series of solo exhibitions by emerging contemporary artists at Schwartz Gallery and William O'Donnell's first gallery solo show. "And it fell through sunlight and through shade, turning in that lonely void until it fell from sight into a sink of cold blue space that absolved it forever of memory in the mind of any living thing that was." Rooted in the desire for the understanding of the human condition, Will's work seeks to construct auras of sensibility that reflect on ideas of memory, loss, forgetfulness, mourning, transformation and solipsism. Combining minimalist influenced structures and forms with text overlays Will articulates imagined and sourced quasi-narratives that delve into the human psyche with a desire to inspect the positioning, grading and weighting of memory. Imagination and experience slip through our fingers like fine sand when we try and ground our understanding of them. Will's forms and objects pursue the imbuing of truths and a sense of identity through their pervasive honesty and by firmly establishing their temporality in the now. Opening 28th May 6-9 p.m. Free Admission.
