Over 60 works in painting, sculpture, film and video installation, photography and performance from the Serralves Collection
Histories' is a three-part exhibition drawn from the Serralves Collection, highlighting the importance of narrative in recent art making. Marking the 15th anniversary of the opening of the Serralves Museum of Contemporary Art, the exhibition invites fresh thinking around art collecting and contemporary art in the 21st century. The exhibition includes over 60 works in painting, sculpture, film and video installation, photography and performance, many recently acquired, together with a selection of works by artists planned for the Collection. Presented over the summer of 2014 in the Serralves Museum, Villa and Park, Histories proposes three inter-related moments, in which visitors are invited to consider new trajectories in art across time and space. Histories II will be visible from 27 Jun in the Serralves Villa and Park. Curator Suzanne Park. (Image: Amalia Pica, 2013. Courtesy Herald St, London. Col.
