Daniele Dell'Angelo Custode's personal exhibition in London is an important milestone for the artist's work in research and experimentation. His contemporary art metallic installations in historical buildings and in urban environments increase his conceptualisation of his interventions in 'time places', and structure an important relationship with the landscape and space.

Daniele's art continues to express the complex and sophisticated skill of dosing the thickness of materials using its most excellent communication medium: metal.

The choice is all in the 'texture' given to that natural, malleable, moldable, transformable and highly communicative material.

Daniel continues his quest by working with different densities of layers, refining shapes seemingly already perfect, disturbing the balance and reaching interesting solutions which of late have increasingly included those 'objects used by the world' as the artist himself says. In fact, his art involves objects which man has rejected, isolated, abandoned; art therefore reveals their continuing existence, making them live again and inserting them in 'other' places, shared by different and alternative time frames.

By investing an increasing amount of energy in his art and thus his exhibition activities, he has created much interest in this type of work in the European countries where he has shown his creations; he has shown the artistic formative path that can be created through exposure to different languages; art, winding its way through different environments and landscapes, is constantly evolving.

It is as if the work absorbs the space, and could therefore, through mutations, contain the whole world.

The approach to the metal and its many variations continues to be the natural place for Daniele to write, and even re-write, his ideas. "Unconventional Attractions" then, as the expansions, blows, distortions, contorsions, oxidisations, glossy reflections, and then the rusty, burned folds, prove the existence of that always sought and awaited dimension, where the consumption of matter and the transformation of space restore them to time travel... the artist's time. La personale londinese dal titolo “UNCONVENTIONAL AT_TRACTIONS”, di Daniele Dell’Angelo Custode, è un approdo importante per il lavoro di sperimentazione e ricerca dell’artista. Le varie installazioni d’arte contemporanea con le sue sculture in metallo, realizzate in edifici storici o la creazione di ambientazioni urbane, concettualizzano sempre più il suo intervento nei ‘luoghi del tempo’, strutturando una relazione importante col paesaggio e stabilendo coordinate inattese nello spazio. L’arte di Daniele Dell’ Angelo Custode continua ad esprimere quella proprietà fortemente indirizzata al complesso e sofisticato dosaggio degli spessori materici, applicati alla sua componente comunicativa per eccellenza: il metallo. La scelta è tutta nella ‘consistenza’ data a quel materiale naturale, plasmabile, trasformabile, riconvertibile e altamente comunicativo. Daniele Dell’ Angelo Custode continua la sua ricerca sollecitando le diverse densità ‘di strato’, consumando forme apparentemente perfette, intaccandone gli equilibri e arrivando a soluzioni interessanti che, nell’ultimo periodo, hanno coinvolto maggiormente quegli “elementi d’uso del mondo”, come afferma lo stesso artista. Vengono, infatti, coinvolti degli oggetti che l’uomo ‘rifiuta’, isola, abbandona, per cui l’arte, poi, ne rivela la continuità di vita, riproponendoli e inserendoli in spazi ‘altri’, condivisi da tempi d’esistenza, diversi e alternativi.

Investendo sempre più energia sul suo lavoro e, quindi, sulla sua incessante attività espositiva, conseguente all’interesse che questo tipo di lavorazione materica ha suscitato nei paesi europei dove ha esposto, l’artista dimostra come il confronto tra linguaggi diversi rappresenti già un evento performativo; l’arte, muovendosi e spostandosi nei diversi contesti o paesaggi, è in continua evoluzione. E’ come se l’opera assorbisse lo spazio e fosse capace, dunque, di ‘contenere’ il mondo mutando. L’ approccio al metallo e alle sue molteplici varianti rimane il naturale spazio di ‘scrittura’ e anche di ‘ri-scrittura’ delle idee di Daniele Dell’ Angelo Custode. “UNCONVENTIONAL AT_TRACTIONS”, quindi, come dilatazioni, urti, deformazioni, torsioni, ossidazioni, combustioni, lucenti riflessi, poi pieghe corrose, combuste, comprovano l’esistenza di quella dimensione ricercata e sempre attesa, dove il consumo della materia e la trasformazione dello spazio, tornano ad essere il viaggio nel tempo, dell’artista.
