The curatorial collaboration by Michael Newman and Robin Klassnik investigates the manifestation of knowledge in relation to artists who work with or reference text and publishing.
REVOLVER II comprises a fast-paced three-part series of group exhibitions to investigate the manifestation of knowledge in relation to artists who work with or reference text and publishing. All selected works over the series of the three parts combine to create a dialogue exploring the conditions in which a concept or object can manifest as knowledge within the human mind and what constitutes as uncertainty or ‘unknowing’.
Artists participating in REVOLVER II are Jaki Irvine, Joëlle Tuerlinckx, Danh Võ, Deirdre O'Dwyer, Bronwen Buckeridge, Patrick Goddard, and Lizzie Hughes. The three sections will be tied together with four site-specific interventions running from September–December from Peter Liversidge, Craig Barnes, James Coleman and Lucia Nogueira.

X Marks the Bökship 6 July–14 December 2014
X Marks the Bökship is partnering with Matt’s Gallery specially for REVOLVER II to open a small bookshop and project space in the gallery foyer on Thursdays and Fridays over the summer and throughout the autumn exhibition. This live space will host a series of performances, reading groups and discussions on the themes of the exhibition, all free to attend. During this time Eleanor Vonne Brown will begin ‘Publishing the Bökship’ revisiting, consolidating and distributing material on independent publishing.

Revolver II Trailers 21 June–9 September 2014
A series of events programmed by Matt’s Gallery and X Marks the Bökship as introductory trailers to the autumn exhibitions.
An aggregative publication will be produced by Matt’s Gallery and X Marks the Bökship, documenting and responding to the exhibition as it grows over 3 parts. Text, artist pages, art work and other 2D formats will come together in a form of folder or living publication, made available for free gallery visitors.
REVOLVER II is curated by Robin Klassnik and writer and curator Professor Michael Newman and follows the collaborative curatorial approach of the first Revolver exhibition in 2012. REVOLVER is designed to generate a series of curatorial partnerships and discursive projects with artists, writers and practitioners associated with Matt’s Gallery to model curatorial methods and relationships to inform and expand the gallery in its future operations.
