Facing circles - The word community feels good. Senatore works with video, installations, performance, photographs and drawings, where the role of artist as author and public as recipient can be rewritten. The exhibition incorporates ongoing documentary works.
MOT International are pleased to announce the first solo exhibition of Marinella Senatore in
London. Her practice is characterized by public participation. The idea is to foster the creative
power of a crowd, initiating a dialogue between history, culture and social structures. Senatore’s
work is to be experienced by everyone, inviting us to create a participative work in which every
-
body can play a role. She works with video, installations, performance, photographs and drawings, where the role of artist as author and public as recipient can be rewritten.
The exhibition at MOT International, London will incorporate ongoing documentary works from
her nomadic alternative education system
The School of Narrative Dance
; her 2012
movie
set for the opera
Rosas
; fifty archival drawings from her musical
Speak Easy
and finally a new
sculpture derived from her 2010 film
Nui Simu,
capturing autobiographical stories of a smalll
mining town in Sicily.
