From 29 countries, the 160 galleries included in the General Programme and the 62 forming part of the
curated programmes will show paintings, sculpture, installations, photography, video, new media,
drawings and prints.
General Programme
Spanish and international galleries selected by the Organising Committee of ARCOmadrid 2015.
Curated Programmes
#ArcoColombia : In partnership with Government of Colombia, ARCOmadrid 2015 will present a
selection of 13 colombian galleries, bringing us into contact with the country’s most important collectors,
curators and critics.
Curated by Juan A. Gaitán, director of Museo Tamayo (Mexico).
#SoloProjects: With the partnership of the Spanish Agency for International Development
Cooperation (AECID), this section is more than ever a space for exploration of the work of Latin American
artists. A team of three curators of international renown directed by Irene Hofmann and Lucía Sanromán
has selected 24 projects. #SoloProjects also serves as a space for cultural exchange between Latin
America and Europe, with a professional meeting for museum directors, critics and curators.
Directed by Irene Hofmann, Lucía Sanromán
#Opening: This programme widens its horizons to include 28 international galleries which have
been open for less than seven years.
Alongside this section is As Tables Are Shelves, a small pop-up fair presented as an experiment to bring
printed word and image into the context of an art fair. A selected group of artist book publishers from
different countries are invited to participate for three days –Thrusday to Saturday– in this event as an
attempt to draw a dialogue and bring together these two more alternative parts of the fair.
Curated by Luiza Teixeira de Freitas (Portugal/ United Kingdom) | Chris Sharp (Mexico)
Activities
International Collector's Programme
ARCOmadrid 2015 offers an exclusive International Collectors' Programme. This programme includes
exclusive visits to institutions and private collections, and preferential access to the Fair. In this way,
ARCOmadrid ensures the presence of a large group of active collectors and purchasers, suggested by
participating galleries, who will visit the Fair, increasing the volume of its business.
#ARCOmeetings
The Professional Meetings are consolidated as a meeting place for curators and art experts worldwide.
Reserved for professionals and by invitation only, these platforms for debate offer an opportunity to share
reflections, exchange experiences and outline new projects. The programme includes a Museum Work
Session co-organised by AC/E in collaboration of the Spanish Association of Contemporary Art
Directors (ADACE), as well as the 4th Meeting of European and Ibero-American Museums.
Professional Meetings
The presence at ARCOmadrid of prominent art world professionals allows an intense
schedule of meetings and debates to be established, and offers an extraordinary
opportunity for knowledge to be shared among the galleries and professionals invited
to the fair - 285 from 41 countries this year - including curators, museum directors,
journalists, critics and other art professionals
