Most are based on mystery landscape images, and include a series of landscape paintings and preparatory drawings. A series of self-portraits sited in abstract landscapes and a series of light drawings are included.
San Marino, CA -- Absolute Art Gallery, a new contemporary art gallery, is very pleased to announce a solo-exhibition, 'In Mystery' featuring contemporary landscape and light drawing artist Robert D. Aitchison. The exhibition opens April 1st and runs through April 24th, 2004.
Robert D. Aitchison's artworks in this exhibition span several years. Most are based on mystery landscape images, and include a series of landscape paintings and preparatory drawings. A series of self-portraits sited in abstract landscapes and a series of light drawings are included.
'I find images from landscape to be powerfully transformative.' When Aitchison makes or views landscape images he feels transported to a place full of experience and memory. 'I am changed by this kind of experience and return to it over and over in my work. I hope this work will provide the viewer with a similar experience.'
