The Screens Act Two

The Screens is part of a larger project; Art and Other Disasters, which is currently an ongoing process. Adwan is exploring the relationship of the body with technologies and how these alter our perception and experience of ourselves. She uses a combination of time based media and sculpture. In The Screens, she is working with moving wooden machines, which both control and disrupt the viewing of the images. Nora Adwan has been a resident artist at Townhouse since February 2015, developing a body of sculptural and photographic work during her stay. Adwan is based in Bergen, Norway, where she moved to study. She is now in Cairo for a short time, reconsidering this project and developing it further.
