Photography. An installation that is both display and a sculpture, presents images from Bratislava and Budapest
For the exhibition "Photography", Andreas Fogarasi focuses on an ongoing topic of his work since the early 2000s - urban space. Shown in an installation that is both display and autonomous sculpture, photographs from Bratislava and Budapest present Fogarasi's interest in architecture as built representation of the aspirations and contradictions of societies. Sites of construction and of destruction, iconic buildings and anonymous objects, the material surface of the city and its underlying political ruptures are captured with formal rigour and laconic wit. In the framework of Off Biennale Budapest. Opening reception on April 16th at 6pm.
