Bodies Turn To Ash. Multiple fragments of real and imagined bodies are present in Reid's new video work Cakepops accompanying installation
MOT International are pleased to present Clunie Reid's second solo exhibition in Brussels, Bodies Turn To Ash. Multiple fragments of real and imagined bodies are present in Reid's new video work Cakepops accompanying installation. Using digital and manual forms of collage, Reid aggregates imagery pulled from online spaces, manipulating icons, androids and advertisements into highly exaggerated representations of mass media. Rather than merely subverting her materials, Reid dismantles them through repetitious loops and aggressive pop-ups. Clunie Reid (b.1971) lives and works in London. Recent exhibitions include, Contemporary Art Society, London (2014) The Photographer's Gallery, London (2013); Palais de Tokyo, Paris (2013); Art Now at Tate Britain, London (2010); The New Museum, New York (2010); Bielefelder Kunstverein, Bielefelder (2010); Studio Voltaire, London (2010); Focal Point Gallery, Southend-on-Sea (2009); Fotomuseum Winterthur, Zurich (2009); and Institute for Contemporary Arts, London (2008).
