Invisible Force
Keiji Uematsu has been worked with how Gravity and Universal Gravitation affect to human being in terms of his obsessive interests in physics and astronomy. The large installation works as if floating in the air maintaining the equilibrium of forces from the ceiling, sculptures focusing on the interdependency of these various elements including stone, copper, wood etc, photography and video works from his performance in 1970s will create the new outer space Arario Gallery. Born in 1947 in Kobe, Japan and moved to Duesseldorf in 1974. His works had been shown in various museums including the Moderna Museet Stockholm, Sweden (1976), P.S.1, New York, US (1980), and Japanese Pavilion in Venice Biennale (1988). His works in 70s were presented in Frieze Masters London in 2014 and acquired for Tate Collection. Uematsu is living and working in Japan and Germany.
