The summer of 2015 at the Frac Franche-Comté will focus on exploration with three solo exhibits devoted to international artists whose work is represented in its collections.

Exploring drawing with Swiss artist Silvia Bächli, who tells us: "Drawing means delving into unfamiliar territory and traipsing around, finding space…working with and against the paper's edges" and who sketches out, in an infinite variety of forms—and in abstract and sometimes figurative registers—the fruit of her observations, her memories and sensations.

At the Frac Franche-Comté, the drawings are accompanied by photos the artist produced with her partner, artist Eric Hattan, during travels to Iceland between March and June 2008.

Exploration for the Scot Katie Paterson, whose protean work is the fruit of a dialog with specialists in the fields of geology, cosmology, ecology, astronomy and, more recently genetics. Using her scientific knowledge for poetic purposes, she invites us to explore the cosmos and time, matter and life.

Field of the Sky is her first solo exhibition in France. She assembles most of the work she has produced since 2007, among which As the World Turns, acquired by the Frac Franche-Comté in 2013, in addition to Candle (from Earth into a Black Hole) specially created for the exhibit.

Finally, exploration by way of the exhibition of two works by the American Ellie Ga, recently acquired by the Frac. The artist delivers the narrative of her travels aboard the ship Tara which, for scientific purposes, floated in the Arctic's ice. She recounts her experience, playing with different temporalities and conjugating real-life facts and the imaginary.
