Passion Tagwache, niedriger Sonnenstand
In the last two years, German painter Michael Kunze has let the wider public in on his striking talent. Working from his Berlin studio, he has created complex, rich and powerful paintings that are as mysterious and surprising as the artist himself. Monumental canvases seduce the innocent eye, only to shock it with their stormy ideas and concepts - catapulting viewers from their comfort zone. The work of Michael Kunze has been referred to as a transposition of classical education into painting. He practices hermetics and devotes himself to possibly fruitless and incomprehensible scholarship. He travels between worlds and through history. Opening 29 April 2015, 6 pm.
