Mosaic Art for Children

Maraya Art Centre, Sharjah

Students will be acquainted with the materials used in ancient and Byzantine mosaics to create a modern interpretation of classical mosaic design .We will explore mosaics from a classical and historical perspective. The session will begin with a review of the history of mosaics as students gain an understanding of classical mosaic design and fabrication. Students will choose one theme such as animal or nature for their creation. Students will also focus on matchmaking and how to make the boarders and filling techniques to create a unique piece of art. Sunday 23 Aug, 2015 04:30 p.m.
