Silver Lining
In the English language, the idiom 'silver linings' is used as a metaphor for an optimistic way of looking at things, for seeing 'the bright side of things', or the positive aspect of a bad event. It is said that every cloud has a silver lining, and Hendriks' show aims high to the sky. Within this exhibition, paintings from several series- such as The Stars, Cut Canvas, Ruffled Canvas, Analemma, Silver Lining (Broken Glass) and Stained Glass - are presented together. Displaying the works into a new space plays a major role for Hendriks: every exhibition is a new work in itself, the artist says. In this particular exhibition, the silver linings are weaved into a new context. Opening Sunday, September 6th, 16:00 hrs.
