Second edition. 78 exhibitors from 16 countries will be presenting their most promising positions of contemporary and modern art. The Fair is accompanied by special exhibition, an award, a curated film programme, artist talks, and performances.
The second edition of POSITIONS BERLIN Art Fair presents from 17th until 20th September 78 exhibitors from 16 countries.
POSITIONS BERLIN 2015 is accompanied by a top-level supporting programme: the special exhibition of Galleries Association of Berlin (lvbg), the special exhibition "Pararrayos - Contemporary Artists from Mexico", the award of the Peter-Christian-Schlüschen-Foundation, a curated film programme, artist talks, performances, and many more.
Special exhibition of the lvbg
‘Katzengold’ (Golden Mica) is a collective exhibition by members of the Galleries Association of Berlin (lvbg) on how artists develop their work, curated by Constanze Kleiner. Preliminary studies and sketches for realised works will be presented. A special exhibition for the Positions Art Fair Berlin 2015 on the twentieth anniversary of the founding of lvbg. Opening reception on Thursday, September 17, 6 pm.
Pararrayos - Contemporary Artists from Mexico
As a harbinger of the upcoming cultural exchange programme between Germany and Mexico 2016/2017 we present twelve contemporary artists from Mexico in collaboration with the Mexican Embassy Berlin in our special exhibition "Pararrayos". With Javier Areán, Verónica Bapé, Omar Barquet, Miguel Ángel Cordera, Taka Fernández, Agustin Gonzáles, Jacqueline Lozano, Javier Peláez, Eric Pérez, Patrick Pettersson, Pablo Rasgado, Omar Rodriguez-Graham. Opening reception on Thursday, September 17, 4 pm.
Presentation and prize ceremony of the Peter-Christian-Schlüschen-Foundation
The foundation, established in 2005 in memory of the sports photographer Peter Schlüschen, is committed to the promotion of young talents in the field of sports photography. It is equipped with a total amount of € 10,000 one of the most highly endowed prizes for sports photography in Germany. Furthermore the 20 best works of the competition will be presented at the POSITIONS BERLIN. In this context the award ceremony takes place on Saturday, September 19, 6.30 pm.
Video Lounge
With the title "Stadt-Land-Fluss" (City-Country-River) we present a curated film programme, inspired by the exhibition project "Stadt/Bild" (Image of a City) of the Berlin Art Week.
"Stadt-Land-Fluss" is a children's game where it comes to associations, order systems and about the transmission of knowledge. According to this our programme is questioning social, economic, cultural and aesthetic aspects of urban and provincial, of habitat and ways of life and its perception. With video works by Maricel Delgado, Brian Duggan, Petra Lottje, Nathaniel Robinson, Francisco Rozas, Pola Sieverding, Mika Taanila, Francis Zeischegg a.o.
Positions Opening Party
Party at the Arena Club with music by Gruenberg (Experimental Minimal Tech-House) and winston|smith (Tech-House) on Thursday, September 17, 10 pm.

Screening and artist talk with German artist Mia Florentine Weiss (born 1980) and Berlin based journalist and author Andreas Tölke about the Pegasus Project.

Public reading and artist talk with Swiss artist Lilly Keller (born 1929) and Alexander Schwarz, Berlin based author, director and photographer about the book "Lilly Keller. Artist. A literary portrait" by Fredi Lerch, Vexer Verlag, 2015.

"No Voice / No Country". The Writer and Journalist Daniel Schreiber meets the swedish artist Tomas Colbengtson to talk about Colbengtson`s art and his Sami background.

Macrocosmi - systems of other kinds
29 positions of international artists encounter itself in a dialogue between Bologna and Berlin, curated by Pascual Jordan, Petra and Martina Dregger Cavallarin. The exhibition looks after its own laws evolving regulations in arts, ways of life and societies.

Kosmos - Digital Botanical Art by Macoto Murayama
Uniting science and art Macoto Murayama uses latest computer technologies to create botanical illustrations that follow scientific traditions while giving new image to the architecture, mechanics and general laws of organic forms. The precision and “correct” depiction of the object meets in his works with the aesthetics and enjoyment of the plant in analysis.
