Socialized Physical Reaction 2--Huang Zhuan

When discussing the public issues, Wang Youshen chooses a more direct and sensitive media. He selected the news pictures and private pictures in his regular style, and after the opposite chemical processing of imaging and development, the two groups of distinct pictures created a common effect. Development has become the unique conceptualistic means for him to process image information. Recently, his works have involved many different while critical issues, from the impact of family awareness on the social identification of individuals, from the questioning on war to the clearing of consumption culture. And in the work 'Development”, the potential harm of the information and media age to both public and private lives becomes his new theme. The minimalist style and the processlistic features endow his theme with a sense of reminiscence and sentiment.

Wang Youshen was born in Beijing in 1964. Wang began his artistic training at the Beijing Art Academy when he was 16. Upon his graduation he chose to continue his training at the Art Academy's Folk Art Department and majored in illustration and graphic art. As a teenage student during the 1980's, the exciting artistic milieu had a marked influence on his development and philosophies. As with other young artists at that time, he went through various styles, from classical to modern and experimented with all kinds of materials. The 1985 art movement was in essence about subverting the art training of the academy.

Shen Fan is an artist that seeks perfection and simplicity. Over the years, his works have always been full of simple lines and implied tranquility and peacefulness. His latest works involve new colors and the yellow, green and blue lines suggest coziness and intimacy. Enjoy these works help the audience to recover some moments of relaxation in the hustle and bustle in modern cities.

Zeng Fanzhi, born in 1964 in Wuhan, Graduated at Hubei Academy of Fine Arts in 1991, lives and works in Beijing now.

Ji Wenyu, born in 1959, Graduates from Decoration Department in Shanghai Light-industry College in 1989, lives and works in Shanghai now.

Shen Fan, born in 1952, Graduates from the Fine Arts Department of the Shanghai Light Industry Institute in 1986, lives and works in Shanghai now
