ARTBO, International Art Fair of Bogotá, is the quintessential meeting point for the art market in Latin America.
Each year, ARTBO summons national and international galleries, carefully selected to achieve a show of the highest quality, where both a specialized audience and the general public can enjoy and buy artworks.
Along with the commercial aspect of the fair, ARTBO offers a varied cultural and academic program which seeks to facilitate access to, and create new audiences for art.
Because of its unique focus and point of view, ARTBO is a refreshing art fair that manages a balance between more emerging and younger content and established and well-known content. ARTBO focuses its efforts the quality and diversity of its showcase.
MAIN SECTION
Each year, galleries from a variety of countries participate at the fair presenting a selection of modern and contemporary art. These galleries are selected by the Selection Committee considering their trajectory and the quality of their proposal for the fair.
PROJECTS
A curated section that showcases projects by recognized contemporary artists, represented commercially by a gallery, selected and invited by a curator.
REFERENCE
This section will explore and exhibit works by masters who have gained historical significance and thus have become important references for artists preceding them, as well as starting points for what has been defined as contemporary art.
SITIO
Is a new ARTBO program, created to offer participating galleries the possibility to propose artworks, projects or actions that transcend their booth space.
‘Site’ explores beyond the usual type of performance and project found at the fair, and gives audiences a glimpse of new practices in contemporary art. The project also serves to boost the profile of Bogota’s local art scene as it opens up to riskier and more innovative formats and concepts.
ARTECÁMARA
This section showcases the work of young Colombian artists, with no gallery representation, who are selected by a curator through a national and public call for applications. The goal of this section is to promote, professionalize and internationalize the work of promising young Colombian artists.
ARTIST BOOK
A selection of artist book publishers and distributors take part in this new section. Showcases the work of artists that use books as a medium and the publishers they produce this content with.
FORUM
A space for learning and discussing topics related to contemporary art.
ARTICULARTE
A space created to sensitize and the general public closer to art through didactic and intractive activities.
INSTITUTIONS, BOOK PUBLISHERS, CULTURAL MAGAZINES AND EDITIONS
Each year different national and international art and culture entities participate in ARTBO to promote their art related work.
