Taking as its point of departure the work from the Ackermans Collection - Self-Portrait as A Fountain (2000) - the exhibition presents a selection of video works, sculptures and photographs created over the past three years. The works delve, first of all, into the role of images in the media, both for society and for an individual sense of identity. They also pose the question concerning the significance of the observer's point of view and the traditional approach to representation.
In his works, Paul Pfeiffer (b. 1966 in Honolulu, Hawaii) takes up dominant visual elements of contemporary popular culture, calling upon them to produce psychological and aesthetic images and experiences. The works themselves are marked by great perfection in their enlistment of various technologies for computer and video image generation.
