A Portrait Retrospective, featuring works of Joseph & Robert Maniscalco.

This is the first time the works of father and son will be exhibited side-by-side and the first ever, exclusively portrait exhibit at the Maniscalco Gallery. The show is intended as a loving tribute to the legacy of the father from his son. Works are being loaned for the exhibit from the private and public collections of many of the hundreds of subjects who have commissioned Maniscalco portraits over the last forty years. 'The exhibit will express the evolution of style and tastes over time,' says Robert. The work is a continuation of the classical portrait tradition and celebrates the continuing Maniscalco legacy. 'Great artists have both supported and expressed themselves by doing commission portraits for centuries. The challenge for today’s portrait artists, as it was for the masters, is to maintain the integrity of the commission portrait as an inspiring and compelling work of fine art; my intention is to create a portrait that will outlive both subject and artist.' The opening reception will take place, Friday, June 25th, 6-9 pm, and will feature wine and sumptuous food pairings by Da'Edoardo's Restaurant. Strolling, sonic inventions will be provided by singer/songwriter, Dan Minard. The event is free and open to DANG members and invited guests. Many of the portrait subjects will be in attendance
