The Toronto International Art Fair, recognized as a rising star among international art fairs, will hold its fifth annual exhibition from September 30 - October 4 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. 83 galleries from 13 countries will assemble to form an extensive exhibition and sale of modern and contemporary art in the heart of downtown Toronto. This Fifth Anniversary edition of the Fair boasts a 90% exhibitor return, a selection of attractive newcomers and exceptional curatorial and cultural programming.

OPENING NIGHT
The Opening Night Preview and benefit for the Art Gallery of Ontario will be held Thursday September 30, from 6:30 - 10:00pm. A Special Collectors' Preview will be held from 5:30 - 6:30pm. For more information or to purchase tickets please call the AGO (416) 979-6608.

SPECIAL PROJECTS
New projects to debut at TIAF are Berlin Constructions: an exhibition that addresses the emergent practices and new art forms that have developed since the fall of the Berlin Wall, Solo Spaces: a section dedicated exclusively to one-artist shows presented by selected participating galleries. The Fair will also present the second edition of The News at Five: a series of daily rotating exhibitions curated by Canadian Art magazine Editor Richard Rhodes, Fresh Avant-Garde: a section highlighting the talent and innovation of young emerging artists.

SPEAKERS FORUM
Organized by Popsy Johnstone and Marshall Webb
A wide range of topics such as curating contemporary international art, private collecting and incorporating art into business will be addressed by a distinguished selection of international guest speakers and panelists including MOCA Miami Director Bonnie Clearwater, Gallery at Windsor Director and Wittington Fashion Retail Group Creative Director Alannah Weston, AGO Curator David Moos, Frankfurt Kunstverein Director Nicolaus Schafhausen and major Belgian collectors Wilfried and Yannicke Cooreman.

THE BREAKFAST CLUB
This additional hosted lecture series is comprised of international and local art personalities who will collectively discuss curatorial perspectives on exemplary exhibitions.

IN THE CITY
With two new curators, a new Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art (MOCCA) location and major redevelopment projects underway for the AGO, Royal Ontario Museum and Ontario School of Art and Design the city of Toronto has reason to celebrate. On site, The Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery, Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art (MOCCA) and the Art Gallery of Ontario will each show their presence with a feature project reflective of their respective concurrent programming.
