Solo show by pol.knots at Le Phénix Valenciennes, France
At the Phenix in Valenciennes, pol.knots presents a series of paints built in a serial and repetitive way. The topic of three figures is declined all the way long to recall that our knowledge is are acquired by a triple mechanism: reason, sensations and intuition. For Christophe Riff, curator for the exhibition, the work showed by pol.knots has to be placed within the post Internet aesthetic: "pol.knots is using standard techniques of low tech, far away from multi- and new media. All by all, it is quite traditional painting, as simple as that!
But, it is painting hallmarked by contemporary context. With a typical scientific background focused on the brain and a touch of globalism. A taste of Taoism is questioning the retina about fullness and vacuum. Another evident component is directly related to Internet, with fluid colours and light constructions ensuring a very simple and rapid first vision ".

Vernissage is the opening event to "Joe" a masterpiece choreography created in 1984 by the Canadian choreographer Jean-Pierre Perreault (1947-2002).

Born in Belgium in 1948, pol.knots lives and works in Alès, South of France. A self-thought artist, holding a master in Journalism and Social Communications (Université Libre de Bruxelles) pol.knots expressed his artistic vision initially expressed as a satirical writer. In 1975, he published "L’Autre Belgique†, Vokaer publishing house, in collaboration with Yvon Godefroid.
pol.knots is painting since about thirty years and started with exhibitions in 2001. His work is presented by Guy Denis (Galerie La Louve - Belgium), Aline Hercberg (Arlevart Gallery, Paris), Gerard Van Weyenberg (VW Fine Arts, Los Angeles), Ginette Turpeau (Gallery Dialogue, Nîmes) and Christophe Riff (Valenciennes). Member of the royal association of the Belgian visual artists (Koninklijke Vereniging Beeldende Kunstenaars van België vzw).
Founder in 2003 of aRT+sCIENCE, meeting platform between artists and scientists.
