The Solo Group Show features The Miami Pieces, four 6' x 13' foot walls composed of almost two-hundred framed mixed-media works each. Di Rosa's works have been described by critics as bold, loud, crass, sexual and expressionistic, but always in keeping with the spirit of Pop. These contradictory inputs led to this show, where Di Rosa acted as curator of 'his many selves'.
The Solo Group Show
February 16, 2005, New York, NY - Haim Chanin Fine Arts is pleased to present The Solo Group Show, new works by French Neo-Pop artist Hervé Di Rosa. The exhibition opens on Friday, March 4, from 6 to 8 PM and runs through April 23, 2005. The Solo Group Show features The Miami Pieces, four 6' x 13' foot walls composed of almost two-hundred framed mixed-media works each.
Hervé Di Rosa's works have been described by critics as bold, loud, crass, sexual and expressionistic, but always in keeping with the spirit of Pop. The four The Miami Pieces, each composed of hundreds of individual items, are like a diary in which Di Rosa assembles the infinite images, messages, and signs that he encounters daily. These contradictory inputs led to The Solo Group Show, where Di Rosa acted as curator of "his many selves." Di Rosa's work has been featured by many prestigious institutions worldwide, including the Museum of Groningen, Netherlands, Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, Grand-Palais, Paris, Centre d'Art Contemporain de Flaines, Cluses, and the Museo de Arte Contemporánero de Oaxaca, Mexico.
Haim Chanin Fine Arts will present works on paper by French master Pierre Soulages (May 5 – July 30, 2005).
