Dark Matters

The Contemporary Gallery, London

According to physicists, everything we perceive in the universe is a mere 4% of 'what is' and about 23% is Dark Matter - we know it's there but we don't know what it is. The rest is 'unimaginable'. Works by: Sue Cohen, Cat Ingrams, Natlaie Martin, Sujo Remi.

comunicato stampa

A disused shop is the venue for this exhibition, which brings together eight contemporary artists using a wide range of media to explore the subject of Dark Matter.

According to physicists, everything we perceive in the universe is a mere 4% of "what is" and about 23% is Dark Matter - we know it's there but we don't know what it is. The rest is "unimaginable".

Sue Cohen's Box of Tricks (mixed media) uncovers murky secrets hidden in the immediate environment of 127 Brick Lane.

Cat Ingrams' work explores the intimate life of the domestic subject and the melancholy texture of abandonment.

Natlaie Martin's conceptual sculpture investigates the idea of transformation through loss and abandonment and our relationships with architectural space.

Sujo Remi's video and installation pieces are light-hearted journeys into the unknown incorporating drains and odd socks.
