Elena Pascuzzi Corsi's current work features sculptures, installations, and drawings centered on healing, nature, and the joy of play. Layers are built up, rubbed, scraped, and pushed around as sought-after beauty emerges. Sometimes a happy surprise comes out of the muck, one that feels sexy, spiritual, and medicinal. A native of New York, she earned her M.F.A. at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and lives in Fullerton.
Mervyn Seldon's paintings capture in vibrant color some of the emotions arising from our relationships with others, with our homes, and with the natural world. With an underlying sense of humor, she uses abstract and representational forms, as well as contrasting textures and patterns, to record the intensity of shared experiences. A native of Chicago, she earned her M.F.A. degree at California State University, Fullerton, in 1997 and lives in West Covina.
Caren Sweeney's work for 2005 began with several road trip adventures. This exploration of new environments brought closer observation of her surroundings into her paintings. With the addition of mixed media, she has intensified viewers' awareness of nature's colors, textures, and essence. A native of Washington State and a resident of Anaheim, she earned her M.F.A. degree at California State University, Fullerton, in 2001 and teaches art in Riverside.
