The hand of the eye: Questions of Travels. The artist dwells into the nature of traveling and the need to have a sense of place as a fundamental human drive satisfied in part by personal history, culture and the environment. He contemplates traveling and its relationship to exploration as another fundamental human need driven in part by the possibility to discover and "choose" something other than what we have inherited or known as "home".

In "THE HAND OF THE EYE: Questions of Travels", the artist dwells into the nature of traveling and the need to have a sense of place as a fundamental human drive satisfied in part by personal history, culture and the environment. The artist furthermore contemplates traveling and its relationship to exploration as another fundamental
human need driven in part by the possibility to discover and "choose" something other than what we have inherited or known as "home".
"untitled /1000 with souvenirs" will also be part of this exhibit. This particular artwork explores the artist attraction to souvenir shops, where identical images are often printed on multiple products and sold to satisfy a need to be identified with a place, or "object". The almost infinite editions found at souvenir shops, (and the many incarnations on objects of /UNTITLED /1000/), alludes as well to the current art market trend of producing monumental editions of specific artworks. A boxed edition of a framed replicated image of "untitled /1000" and its souvenirs will be on display. An installation from the same series will be exhibited simulateneously at the Bass Museum Art Basel opening event.
