The show presents national & international contemporary artists who address the sea's stunning polarities in their work. These epic contradictions provide us with an example of "the sublime" described by Kant as "a vibration, a rapidly alternating repulsion and attraction produced by one and the same object" and by the Greek philosopher Longinus as that which "reduces all else to nothingness."
