Digital & Video Art Fair
DiVA is the first* art fair dedicated to video and digital art. Since the invention of photography, nothing has had a greater impact on artistic practice than the emergence of the personal video camera, and later, digital technology. Now, cameras and video cameras, digital or not, with the aid of computers, have become the ultimate tool in creating a dynamic arena for art-making. The use of video and/or computers no longer restricts the artists to their immediate technical parameters.
For 4 days, 3 floors of the Atrium of the Embassy Suites Hotel will host Digital and Video Art presented by over 40 international galleries. The last edition which took place last March was such a success that the organizers of the fair opened editions of DiVA in Brussels, Paris and Cologne in the same year.
Each gallery will occupy one suite to display the work of artists. Galleries are encouraged to dedicate one of the rooms of the suite to a single artist while using the second room to showcase the work of other exceptional projects.
DiVA promises to be a valuable addition to the art market. Diva will be open from March 9th to the 12th 2006 at the Embassy Suites Hotel.
*The first edition of DiVA was named Moving Images and took place at the Windsor Hotel in New York in November 2003.
