Its 27th Annual Benefit Art Auction, on 17 May 2006. This year's benefit features a live auction with an expanded silent auction, featuring only art, and flourish: the performance, where artist Karen Kimmel transforms one hundred flourish Auction Paddles into one-of-a-kind ikebana floral sculptures.

What: Lace presents Flourish, its 27th Annual Benefit Art Auction, on 17 May 2006. This year's benefit features a, live auction with an expanded silent auction, featuring only art, and flourish: the performance, where artist Karen Kimmel transforms one hundred flourish Auction Paddles into one-of-a-kind ikebana floral sculptures. The evening culminates in a special performance by Dita Von Teese, made possible by a generous donation from Voce.

This signature event is hosted by Lace's distinguished Honorary Host Committee, including Roman Alonso, Tony Alva, Rose Apodaca, Patricia Arquette, Andre Balazs, Fenton Bailey, Randy Barbato, Julie Bowen, Anne Crawford & Dudley De Zonia, Lisa Eisner, Annie Flanders, Councilmember Eric Garcetti, Dede Gardner, Jacqui & Peter Getty, Mark Haddawy, Angela Janklow, Ron Livingston, Kate Miller, Arianne Phillips, David Quadrini, Katy Rodriguez, Mark & Brigette Romanek, Aaron Rose, Jamie Rosenthal, Vidal & Ronnie Sassoon, Jon Sidel, Greg Siegel, Andy Slater, Thomas Solomon, Andrea & Steven Stanford and Sarah Watson.

Who: Contributing Artists (list in formation): The evening will provide opportunities to bid on remarkable pieces by: John Baldessari, Jim Campbell, E.V. Day, Cheryl Dunn, Brian English, Lisa Eisner, Spencer Finch, Jeremy Gilbert-Rolfe, John Giorno, James Hyde, Chris Johanson, John Kalymnios, Soo Kim, Karen Kimmel, Liz Larner, Geoff McFetridge, Tom McGrath, Faris McReynolds, Aurie Ramirez, Casey Reas, Herb Ritts (Courtesy Herb Ritts Foundation), Steve Roden, Aaron Rose, Jim Shaw, Billy Sullivan, Ed Templeton, Ryan Trecartin, John Waters among others.

Why: For twenty-eight years, Lace has distinguished itself by presenting artwork that is new, untested, controversial, and experimental, and since the organization's inception, the Annual Benefit Art Auctionhas been Lace's primary fundraising event. Today, this benefit continues to raise important funds that allow us to provide creation of new works and support the much needed dialogue about contemporary arts and culture in Los Angeles.

LACE events--exhibitions, performances, screenings, dialogs and other public forums--strive to inspire the public imagination and to expand interactions between art and audience.

Admission to Lace is free with a recommended donation of $3.00 ($2.00 students, members free). Gallery hours are Wednesday - Sunday 12 - 6 pm, Friday 12 - 9 pm.
