Will I remember you? The artist presents 3 large-scale pencil portraits on linen. Working from photographs rather than from life, she details the pencil work on the face, that give way to finer linear lines of the clothing - the use of negative space used to define form is just as crucial as the imagery itself.

For Will I remember you? Jane presents three large-scale pencil
portraits on
linen. Working from photographs rather than from life, she meticulously
details the pencil work on the face, that give way to finer linear
lines of
the clothing - the use of negative space used to define form is just as
crucial as the imagery itself.
Jane's work is about how a viewer engages with the subject, and their
relationship with subject matter. I am attracted to the 'close up', as
they
often imply a particularly dramatic moment, or a time when the viewer is
being shown real emotion.
