Red with Eagle
Sicardi Gallery is pleased to announce Red with Eagle an exhibition of
recent drawings and photographs by Liliana Porter. A catalogue with text by
independent curator Maria Elena Huizi accompanies the exhibition. The
opening reception with the artist is Thursday, June 8th from 6-8pm. There
will be a special conversation with Liliana just prior to the opening of
the exhibition at 5:00 pm.
Mystery and revelation are among the most fascinating of difficulties and
pleasures that art provides us. Two qualities that in Liliana Porters work
constitute a significant part of her formal substance, her conceptual
intelligence and her playful component. Moreover, in each one of Liliana
Porter's creations, next to its symbolic content more or less enigmatic,
there is a definitive and triumphant epiphany of time.
