The Brick Lane Gallery is pleased to present Fashion Stories, a selection of
personal work by eight fashion photographers revealing an unusual and
surreal world. Given the freedom to move away from commercial clients’
requirements and restrictions, the photographers brought together for this
exhibition have all chosen to create images of spectacular beauty with an
underlying narrative.
Photographers and their work will include:
Matthew Shave’s delicate and stylish photographs have won him work with
Jimmy Choo, Estee Lauder and Selfridges; while his work has also been
featured in most major magazines such as Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, Elle and GQ.
French born Antoine Picard creates images of a classical and sophisticated
beauty. His simple portraits are reminiscent of a different time and place.
Karin Berndl’s enchantingly lit and composed images seek to create a strong
narrative with scenes of otherworldly landscapes and characters.
Robert Jaso creates strong and elegant images capturing movement, light and
expression. His clients include Matthew Williamson, L’Oreal, Wella, Italian
Vogue, Icon Magazine and German Madame.
Leo Krumbacher’s esthetical vision explores the natural beauty in his
photographs’ subjects. The humanness of his images and a certain ambiguous
and foreboding narrative reveal scenes of a beautiful complexity.
Aimee and Anoush’s mysterious portraits create a world open to
interpretation and intrigue. Anoush from Iran and Aimée, a Dutch national,
started working together as a team in 2004 after finishing art school. Their
photographs have been featured in various magazines and exhibitions and were
recently in the National Portrait Gallery’s “Photographic Portrait Prize”.
Jork Weismann’s stunning images of a simplistic yet evocative beauty are
full of a sensitive and human approach to stylistic photography.
Rinze’s work is a hybrid of photography and graphics creating striking
images framed by his ability to capture a moment and bring each photograph
to life. Rinze has produced work for Dazed & Confused, GQ and Wallpaper
Magazine.
