A modern mythology paying tribute to women from all over the world
A modern mythology
The first Arts Plus theme exhibition inspired by the world of superheroes: 11 heroic women whose silhouettes are installed within an imaginary labyrinth representing mutant creatures with special powers, a modern mythology paying tribute to women from all over the world.
The collection questions the situations and the images of women through the metaphor of superheroes. As in the great Greek gods mythology where each represented the forces of the universe, each of the heroes represent one of the aspects of the paths travelled by woman throughout the ages in fields as diverse as love, the gift of life and knowledge, physical beauty, work relations, family and power.
From the 8th of March, the opening day, the exhibition will be 'extended' in Second Life, recapturing the scenography of the exhibition, and making it possible to discover the superheroins from all over the world. The Second Life community is being offered a double experience: browsing a 3D version of the exhibition, and participating to its digital extension, by designing avatars inspired from the 11 female heroins, over a 3 month period.
The exhibition opens March 8th in the presence of Monsieur Renaud Donnedieu de Vabres, Minister of Culture and Communication.
