Tart presents a week-long group show by three women artists. So Much Pleasure.. incorporates installation, text and object-based work to explore ideas of the erotic derived from psychoanalysis and feminism, surrealism and post-modernism.
Voyeuristic, fetishistic, humorous, ironic, sensual and suggestive, So Much Pleasure.. promises just that!
Debbie Booth deals with the projection and obsession inherent in desire with two elegant conceptual works - Stretch out and wait and An Excess of Less. Andy Cohen's Penetralia and Positions Vacant series are a playful excursion into the erotic, while Wendy Haslam's Fanny Bags and Big Knickers humorously challenge traditional notions of female sexuality.
Debbie Booth studied Fine Art at Middlesex University and Goldsmiths. She has exhibited in numerous group shows and is currently working on a joint project with Emmanuelle Vequeau, a Breton artist. Andy Cohen studied art at St Martin's and the Royal College of Art. She has recently shown at Debs & Co in New York and will have a solo show at Tart in the autumn. Wendy Haslam studied art at Middlesex University and most recently exhibited with the World AIDS Day touring show.
