Angels of Stealth, curated by Simon Njami (Paris) in association with Claudia Banz (Berlin), is a large multimedia project that deals with the allegorical invasion of women from the former-East into the urban propaganda fields of Western Europe. The battle is essentially a battle about images and the interpretation of images in the new body EUrope. F..klore is one part of Rodney Place's Angels of Stealth
Angels of Stealth, curated by Simon Njami (Paris) in association with Claudia Banz (Berlin). is a large multimedia project that deals with the allegorical invasion of women from the former-East into the urban propaganda fields of Western Europe. The battle is essentially a battle about images and the interpretation of images in the new body EUrope.
F..klore revolves around the idea of a trans-national European hotel – chelsea-hotel-eastside.com - at once cyber/real rooms and stages for the hotel’s inhabitants.
Chowaniec plays Klara, a new wave designer from Warsaw; and Monczka plays Ewka, a photographer from Krakow.
The room-sized works in F..klore – an on-going project - take different forms from “live film” to photo comic, and the scripts are developed in dialogue with Chowaniec and Monczka. In the multi-tasking way of the former-East, the inhabitants/performers also have a central role in the production enterprise and the long-term development of the project. The two works are shown in-progress in Vienna. They were developed in residency at MQ 21 (February– April 2007) at the invitation of EIKON magazine.
