Massimo Bartolini + Maria Nordman
Massimo Bartolini + Maria Nordman
Massimo Bartolini
Curated by: Joao Fernandes
Massimo Bartolini is one of the best-known and most prestigious Italian artists of the younger generations. Working within a field that tends to be described as the "expanded field of sculpture" - that lies somewhere between architecture, urbanism and performance - the artist transforms the spaces where he works by means of distinctive use of architectural elements, light and sound, generating paradoxical spatial experiences and great physical intensity. At Serralves, the artist will present a new project together with two older works.

Maria Nordman
Curated by: Maria Almeida
This will be one of the largest ever exhibitions dedicated to the work of Maria Nordman, a landmark figure in the artistic context of the 1960s and 1970s, having played a pioneering role in the relationship between the art work and the public space. At Serralves, Maria Nordman will present a selection of previous projects related with light and architecture, together with an anthological selection of her work in the field of drawing and photography. A new temporary project will be specifically produced for this exhibition.
