Ed Osborn presents several new sound installations in the show air driver at Sparwasser. The kinetic nature of these pieces provides a kind of living presence within the exhibition space. The installations are playfully focused on the gallery-windows: knocking and vibrating the glass, bridging with sound the border space of the gallery, and producing a sharp call for attention to the street outside.

Air Driver

Ed Osborn presents several new sound installations in the show air driver at Sparwasser in October. The kinetic nature of these pieces provides a kind of living presence within the exhibition space. The installations are playfully focused on the gallery-windows: knocking and vibrating the glass, bridging with sound the border space of the gallery, and producing a sharp call for attention to the street outside. The works demonstrate a visceral sense of space, aurality, and motion combined with a precise economy of materials.

The recipient of many awards including a Guggenheim Fellowship, Ed Osborn has shown extensively in the United States, Canada, Australia and Europe. His sound-based artworks take many forms including installation, sculpture, radio, video, performance, and public projects. Ed Osborn has been brought to Berlin through the DAAD Artists-in-Berlin Program.
