Aldo Castillo Gallery Exhibits Chilean Artist Ignacio Gana’s Work Honoring
Hispanic Heritage Month.
Consistent with the mission of increasing awareness of the significant
cultural contributions of Latin American artists, the Aldo Castillo Gallery
will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with Latin American Avant Garde, a
solo show by the contemporary Chilean artist Ignacio Gana.
Currently living in Santiago de Chile, Gana will travel to Chicago to
celebrate the Latinos’ impact and influence on the history and the
development of the United States with the Aldo Castillo Gallery.
Gana recalls the mysterious scenarios of the America’s magic realism in his
work, echoing the literature of Latin writers such as Gabriel Garcia
Marquez, Jose Luis Borges, and Federico Garcia Lorca. On the canvas, he
explores the realms of surrealist terrains. His befitting landscapes of the
netherworld recall both the serene, magical landscapes of Rousseau and the
absurdist pictorial incongruities of Rene Margritte.
