80 works which will enable the public to understand both his evolution in style and the transformation of his aesthetic thinking
Landscapes played an important part in Poussin's works, from his first Roman works between 1624 and 1630 up to his final years. The exhibition includes 80 works which will enable the public to understand both Poussin's evolution in style and the transformation of his aesthetic thinking when confronting nature sometimes wild and sometimes domestic, which he depicted like few artists of his time. The scientific management of the project is the responsibility of one of the most reputed specialists in the French painter's work, Pierre Rosenberg, honorary President-Curator of the Louvre, who has prepared a selection of paintings and drawings which will present Poussin's contribution to landscape painting for the first time in Spain and the United States.
