Art in 17th and 18th century Venice
Art in 17th and 18th century Venice
curated by Xavier Barral
The exhibition contains more than one hundred works drawn from museums from all over Europe and is organised into a number of sections: religion and mythology, publishing, daily life, portraits and landscapes from 17th and 18th century Venice.
This is the first time that Barcelona has seen such an extraordinary collection of paintings, drawings, etchings, sculptures and books, works which are evidence of the importance of their period as an artistic and cultural reference point, and of the city of the canals and its artists such as Canaletto, Carriera, Guardi, Longhi and Tiépolo among others.
