For the Centre international d’art et du paysage, Koo Jeong-A created a series of installations which are attaining an unreal and phantasmagorical vision of the landscape by their title Ousseux . The word 'Ouss', a basic notion to understand Koo Jeong-A's work, crosses her work as a reference, a dreamlike and childish form becoming a protected area. 'Ousseux', the adjectival form of 'Ouss' becomes a new declension to define the imaginary space through Vassiviere site. The Centre d'art accomodates the epiphany of this absolute and fabulous space materializing in the postmoderne Aldo Rossi's architecture.
Koo Jeong-A's work looks like archeological excavations in which all lost and non-artistic materials are get back. The Centre international d'art et du paysage is deeply modified by the artist using materials such as linoleum, neon lamps, drawings, the fleece of an animal she likes, water, wax and some stuffs such as a centre light, a model, heaters.
With Ousseux , Koo Jeong-A invites to accurately and attentively experience with time and space. She confirms that the essence of her work lies in the fragile visibility of the art piece, in its unobtrusiveness that puts to the test our asleep senses, that reminds us not to forget the laborious discover of things.
The exhibition Oussseux is produced in partnership with Naturalia et Pro Natura.
