One is surely somehow more alive looking at a Pagk painting, moving it into slanted daylight, restoring it to the cool gloom of a whitewashed wall. And beyond this individual, guiltily bourgeois one-on-one pleasure, there is also the richer experience of an exhibition where one can compare and contrast the evolving vocabulary of the oeuvre, where parallels and paradoxes of Pagk's progress can be plotted.
